It has been over two years since I picked up a guitar and sang. So expect suck. I did it because I still can. I even wrote a new verse for the song. I think there are five, because I sang it at a friends funeral ten years ago.  Anyway, It will do, I don't expect practicing too much it takes too much energy. And that shirt that looks two sizes too big, it is and yes I just woke up from a short 10 minute  nap (fell asleep) and went and got out my guitar and tuned it. I already had the camera set on a tripod because I was recording something off the internet and don't have screen capture that I know of.

Update: "Here" should be "There" Second verse. Oh well maybe I was looking into the future.. Use head phones to capture bass, other wise sounds like I have a cheap guitar singing though my nose.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The U.S. Agriculture Department is known for its army of statisticians packing yardsticks and calculators to measure wheat and count soybeans.

But the agency needs more firepower for another kind of rural reckoning and is gearing up with thermal imaging weapons.

 

 

In its crosshairs are aggressive feral hogs that can weigh more than 400 lbs (180 kg) and have been known to carry off newborn calves. They cause about $1.5 billion of damage every year to farm communities and fields, say department officials, and now there are worries they may help spread a deadly pig virus.

 

 

So the USDA wants to buy thermal scopes that snap onto high-powered rifles to kill the wild beasts.

"We're going to get them, oh yes we are," said Jason Wilking with USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), which has put out bids for 11 scopes since April 7.

Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has announced the Senate Democrats are scheduling a vote on a constitutional amendment to give Congress the authority to regulate political speech, because elected officials have decided they don’t like it when the citizenry has the temerity to criticize what they’ve done,” he said.

“They don’t like it when pastors in their community stand up and speak the truth,” Cruz said to an audience of hundreds of pastors from across the country.

“And I’ll note this amendment, which has 41 Democratic senators as co-sponsors – 41 Democrats have signed on to repealing the First Amendment,” Cruz said. “It explicitly says nothing in this new amendment shall abridge the freedom of the press.
“So the New York Times is protected, but it doesn’t say the same thing about the freedom of speech,” Cruz said. “It doesn’t say the same thing about religious liberty.”

Fun With Math and Guns

You have just been shot at by a sniper. Luckily he missed and when you heard the bullet go by you started counting and the estimated time between hearing the bullet and hearing the gun report was approximately 2.5 seconds. How far away do you look for the shooter? Given some approximate knowns:

V1 - Speed of sound is ~ 1100 ft/sec

V2 -Avg speed of bullet over distance is ~ 2400 ft/sec

T1 – Time from hearing bullet to hearing gun report ~ 2.5 sec

T2 – Time it takes the bullet to travel from the gun to your position ~ ?

Total Time = T1+T2

Calculate T2 = T1*(V1/V2)

T2= 2.5sec*(1100 ft/sec / 2400ft/sec) = 1.14 sec

Total Time = 2.5sec + 1.14 sec =3.64 sec

Distance to shooter = 3.64 sec * 1100 ft/sec = 4004 ft

Convert to yds – 4004 ft / 3 ft/yd = 1334 yds

So to simplify the equation

Distance to shooter = (T1+(T1*0.458))*366

(2.5+(2.5*0.458))*366 = 1334 yds

So you look for your shooter about 1300 yds down range.

Remember these are approximations based on sniper rifle velocities but good enough for the field. In fact one could say about 260 yds per 1/2 second or 520 yds per second.

He is the former head of two prestigious European meteorological institutes, and a keen “climate modeller”, who recently defected from the international global-warming establishment to join the advisers of Lord Lawson’s Global Warming Policy Foundation. Then last week he had to resign because of “McCarthy”-style pressure from his old warmist colleagues, so intense that he feared for his health. And now he has made front-page news by revealing that a paper he co–authored, claiming that official global warming claims have been exaggerated, was rejected by a leading climate science journal because it would have given ammunition to the “climate deniers”.

All this has produced a storm of counter-protest from the sceptics, claiming that it shows how absurdly intolerant the warmists have become in their desperation to protect their beloved “consensus”. It is true that Lennart was once a cheerleader for their orthodoxy. And it is true that he has recently shown scientific honesty in his growing disenchantment with climate models programmed to assume that rising CO2 levels must inevitably lead to disastrous warming.

But the fact is that it has long been obvious to any dispassionate observer that, as global temperatures have so dismally failed to rise as they predicted, those computer models on which the whole theory rested were hopelessly flawed. Equally, it has long been clear, as we saw with “Climategate”, that the orthodox establishment will stop at nothing to protect its deluded belief system from criticism.

There must always be joy over any sinner who repenteth. But the real honour should go to those proper scientists such as Dr Richard Lindzen, who for years courted derision by pointing out that the emperor had no clothes, because they never lost their grasp on what genuine science is all about. As I once tried to reassure another of them, Dr Fred Singer, when he was in an unusually gloomy mood, “we have two invincible allies in this fight – one is nature, the other is truth”. In fact, the ridiculous hounding of Dr Lennart is only another tiny symptom of how those two allies are slowly winning the day.

I believe That the sons of God were what we call UFO's. They are back toward the end times. Many abduction stories talk about mostly women being taken and doing sexual experiments on them. You may think that this is too far out, but these genetically modified children are populating the earth which are of the serpent's seed.

Also I have noticed not one abduction story come from a Christian, or I haven't seen one. I have concluded that the 5% of unexplained UFO's are not Extraterrestrials but are extra-dimensional malevolent beings. I expect they will reveal themselves soon and turn many away from God. It makes sense to me they are cross breeding humans as in the book of Genesis and from one of these (out of the sky in a UFO) will the anti-Christ come after much tribulation to save the world and many will accept him even many Christians.

Maxima, a Computer Algebra System

 

If you have children in school starting Algebra to Calculus, Here is Maxima CAS program that they will love. Or if you are a Student yourself this open source (free) no restriction computer program is for you. I was looking to buy my nephew something then ran across this. I have been playing around with it and it is amazing.

There is a college student who did a 0-6 part tutorial on it and put it on his youtube channel. Just find the Maxima tutorials on his channel and run through them.

Garden Update - V2 Achieved

I have noticed my garden is really starting to take off. You know how things just seem to kind of sit there and grow slowly then suddenly most everything starts to really take off like when the nose of an aircraft starts to roll up off the runway. I call this "V2". This last week my garden reached "V2" (Vegetable take-off).

3:00 AM Walk

Saturday night I woke up and decided to take a walk. About half way down the street with my walking stick I heard a voice. I turned to the left and there was a guy wearing a cowboy hat standing by a van hooked to a trailer.  He was in his late 20's to early 30's and asked me where I was going. I told him down the road. He said you look like you already been down the road. I thought it an insult and walked over to him. I looked him straight in the eye and said "What did you say?" He said you look like you already been down the road.

I paused for a second and said yes I have. He smiled at me and I said "you in a band? (because of the van and trailer)"  He said yep, Mike and the moon pies. I said where is the big red. He laughed and asked me what I was doing out at 3:00 AM and told him I was taking a walk, Doc says I need exercise then asked him what he was doing out. He said we been on the road playing and we got a set tonight here in Fort Worth. I asked him about his band and he talked the language. So I told him that I used to have a band it was called Southern Wind.

He asked me what I played and I said guitar, harmonica and was the lead vocalist. He told me he played the same things, then reached out to shake my hand. We probably talked for ten minutes about band stuff, talking about the wives of the players and how hard it was to keep a band together. It's weird, just weird how it all happened. He asked me what broke up the band. I said my bass player died in a 4wheeler accident checking his cattle. I carried him to his grave with the other band members. I told him how he a Vietnam vet taught me to play guitar.

I put my finger on and tipped his hat and told him, enjoy it while you can, it may seem hard but you will look back one day and realize how special it was. Then I said every thing goes away, everything. And he put his hand out again we shook hands and I left.

Electromagnetic Pulse Weapon. I have seen it twice, the second time I stopped. There is a bridge across Lake Worth about 3/4 of a mile long. Within a half mile is the runway of JRB (Joint reserve military base). The first time I saw six cars stalled on the bridge, the second time I saw over a dozen cars stalled on the bridge coming home from work.

I decided to stop at the last car which was a Ford truck with a redneck climbed up on it under the hood.  I asked him what was wrong and he said it just died going down the road. I asked him if he had saw all the cars behind him with the same problem? He said I saw a couple and I told him to look. When he saw all them cars behind him on the side of the road he said and I quote: "What the hell is going on." I said I think EMP this is the second time I have seen it and stopped this time.

He had a tool box and pulled a plug and it wouldn't fire and I said looks like EMP to me and he asked what that was. I explained and pointed to the air force base across the lake. I told him that the bridge acts as a ground plane with all the rebar. Not to go into every thing I told him but he was pissed. The Tow truck drivers got some good business that day.

So you ask why am I telling this now? I am telling it because I read this story from a journalist that couldn't figure out why the radar and backup went out at LAX Wednesday.

Now, if the West backed the Ukrainian coup because it wants a war with Russia for one reason or another, their actions make sense. But if they simply wanted to pull Ukraine out of the Russian orbit while avoiding military action, they appear to have badly miscalculated.

Yes They did. Russia don't bluff, we do.  We don't want war with Russia. You don't win wars with missiles and stealth aircraft, you win wars with boots on the ground. Invading Russia is like the dead horse of Japan invading us in WWII. Not only could we not win it we would never get there. One tactical nuke would take out all our invading marines.

He says he may not be privy to some information but you don't have to. Just as the Japanese knew invading the west coast was not only stupid but impossible. Michelle Malkin must be running our foreign policy. We have stepped on the bear paw and really pissed him off. It was stupid. Leave Russia be, we got no dog in Ukraine and we can't use the Jackals with a military might like Russia.

We can't use our banks or the IMF to put them down, it is not possible and a fools errand. We can't even give Germany back their gold because we don't have any. Time to get out the tungsten bars from the fort and hope no one notices. We are fricked and have a bunch of psychopaths running the show.

The calculation is this. When they sink one of our carriers with 5000 sailors aboard the American people will get behind the war, they probably will. The draft will come back if this thing does not go nuclear. The protests will start and we will lose badly. America will desist from being an empire to a whooped pup. People across the world will cheer at our defeat.

We lost all credibility in Iraq and the world hates us. We have allowed this to happen, yet we can stop it now with immediate impeachments of politicians. You don't want to lose your children to a bunch of frauds. It is time to stop them. I'm talking about both parties need to be removed, NOW!

Russians don't hate Americans and Americans don't hate Russians. We all hate politicians and should not fight each other. Time for a little bit of house cleaning. You can vote with your wallet and your feet. Don't give them a dime, and put 5 million down Pennsylvania avenue before it is too late. Don't believe a damn word they say.

Sometimes there just ain't no other word that is appropriate for the situation.

Spinach

Spinach looks really good this year. We are giving it away to the neighbors and the church ladies. We can hardly keep up with it and I planted just a small patch with a little lettuce mix at the far side.

Yummy salads until the heat sets in. It is very crisp. A little onion and boiled egg can make a meal.

 

If you are wondering what that lonely corn stalk is doing there, It has pole beans planted around it that will climb the stalk and outside the beans is squash that will cover most of that bare ground and shade the soil.
