It is a Catholic tradition in my family, that if a bad storm is approaching you tear off a little bit of the palm we get on Palm Sunday and burn it in he fire place or a safe bowl if you don't have a fireplace. Does it work? Doe it help, don't know but at least you can do something when there is a an approaching bad storm you can't do anything about.
